Learning Physics In Islamic

"How to Learn Physical Science In Islamic". Some people think that science is neutral nature of religion. Anyone studying physics, whatever his religion, the result remains the same. Electricity stays on, when the switch is squeezed. Anyone who squeeze, whether he is Muslim or infidel, the result remains the same. So, naturally if anyone asked, is there a way to learn Physics is Islamic?

That question was answered Usep Ishad Mohammad, a doctoral student at ITB Bandung Physical Science, the researchers also INSISTS.

In his article, Usep describes, that the real need to pre-Islamic heritage while learning physics is mind student, students, or researchers in the face of natural phenomena.

A Muslim view of this universe as "the verses of Allah", because it is time to observe and investigate natural phenomena, they are not just trying to get the new findings in science, but also believe that behind the universe is so regular that there is Yang The Supreme Creator (Al-Khaliq).
In Islam, the main goal of any education and science is the achievement ma'rifatullah (knowing God, the Creator), and the birth of a civilized human being, that is capable of being familiar with all things in accordance with the dignity that God determined.

"No exception when a Muslim studying Physical Science. He is not only aimed solely to produce scientific breakthroughs or new scientific discoveries, nor produce stacks of scientific journals solely or gelimang property only. But more than that, a Muslim view of the universe as the verses Alllah.

"Verses" is tanda.Tanda to lead to a marked, that his form of al-Khaliq. God sends down His verses to humans in two forms, namely paragraph tanziliyah (a verbal revelation, such as al-Quran) and the verses kauniyah, namely the universe. In fact, in the human body itself, there are the verses of Allah, "wrote Usep I've ever won in a writing contest for high school physics book is organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Learning objectives to arrive at 'ma'rifatullah' was very stressed, because God gave a stern warning to people who are unable to use the potential of sensory and minds to know the Creator. They are referred to as the prospective dwellers of the Fire and aligned its position with the cattle, even more despicable again (Sura 7:179).

Just look at the properties of cattle. Humans are clever, but can not know God, finally equalized its properties with animals! Why? Because, in essence, if people do not know God, then its behavior will be the same with animals. They will only obey the lust for lust in his life. Look, farm animals, he worked professionally as their respective fields. With that, he got a reward to keep the lust-syahwatnya. Eat well, have fun, rest, and then die.

"And those who disbelieve it fun and eating (in the world) just like the animals. And hell is where they live. "(Sura 47:12).

So, according to experts from ITB Physics, Physical Science in Islamic learning should start from the mind of the physicist Islamize itself. Perspective of nature must be "pre-Islamic heritage." He should not be looking at this universe as an object that neutral and free from elements of the divine. Therefore, this universe is God's creature, so it can not be treated arbitrarily. This is what in scientific language, the physicist must have a worldview (the view of nature) are Islamic.

So the universe is not learned solely because of nature itself, but because he studied nature show on the destination something that is familiar with the natural Creator. Because nature is a "paragraph" (mark).

Physicists who study nature and then stopped on the facts and scientific data, is like the rider who pay attention to directions, then he just pay attention to the details and color paper signs it. He forgets that the signs were being pointed at something.

Deprivation "meaning" and the role of nature as a "paragraph", actually is the impact of secularism as defined by Prof.. Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas in his great work, Islam and Secularism. Secularism has led to lifting of the sanctity of nature and the loss of natural charm tabii (disenchantment of nature). As a result, no more than a natural object, have no meaning and no spiritual value.

Physicists Muslims - and also other Muslim scientists - are required to have adab towards nature. Adab of the nature of natural-born views of Islam (Islamic worldview.) With it, a scientist will treat and take advantage of the natural with the correct adab. So was born the concept of an environmentally friendly attitude Islami, which is based not solely for reasons of natural resource limitations, but the realization that it does not belong to human nature, but he is trustworthy and also the verses of Allah. Only with views of nature like this, civilized human beings will be born and have a certain character, as aspired to in our current educational goals.

Prof. Naquib al-Attas warned, the loss of adab towards nature - as the verses of Allah - this is what has caused major damage in the universe. Unprecedented in human history, natural damage such as this, in which secular science rule the world of science. The root of this damage is science (knowledge) that spread the West, which has lost the correct destination.

Science is wrong that is causing confusion (chaos) in human life, rather than bring peace and justice; science that seems correct, but produce confusion and skepticism (confusion and scepticism). Even secular science is for the first time in history has led to chaos in 'the Three Kingdom of Nature', the world of animals, plants, and minerals.

According to al-Attas, in Western civilization, the fundamental truth of religion is seen merely theoretical. Negated absolute truths and values are relatively acceptable. No one certainty. Consequently, it is penegasian God and the Hereafter and put people as the only one entitled to rule the world. Man finally humanized dituhankan and even God. (Man is deified and Deity humanised). (See, Jennifer M. Webb (ed.), Powerful Ideas: Perspectives on the Good Society, (Victoria, The Cranlana Program, 2002), 2:231-240).

As one field of science that has developed very rapidly, Physical Science has proven to bring many benefits for mankind. Mandatory part of Muslims to master this science. However, world views and ways of learning a Muslim will be different from the others. Because, for Muslims, the universe is the verses of Allah, that studied - not just to reveal new findings - but also to recognize the Pancipta.

So the thought of Usep summary Mohammad Ishaq, an expert from ITB Physics, which is struggling with her friends to learn how to cultivate the Islamic Physical Science.

Another interesting article published in the Journal of Islamia-Republika edition was written by John Adler, who is also a doctoral physics of ITB. In artiikelnya entitled History of Engraving Muslim physicist, John Adler describes a brief history and great achievements of Muslim physicists who are very big role in the development of the science of Physics. In fact, they become a source of inspiration and knowledge for a number of Western scientists.

History proves, the contribution of Muslim scientists in the field of physics are enormous. Rich-work of Muslim scientists in the field of physics, whether classical or modern, can be said to be very abundant. Try to think, what's on your mind when the familiar "camera"?

Many Muslim students who may not know at all, that the development of camera technology can not be separated from the services of a physicist experimentalists in the 11th century, namely Ibn al-Haytham. He is an expert in optics, the originator of experimental method. His book about the theory of optic, al-Manazir, especially in the theory of refraction, adopted by the duke in a more mathematical.

There is a possibility, Newton's theory was also influenced by al-Haytham, because in medieval Europe, the optical theory are well known. His work is widely cited European scientist. During the 16th century to 17, Isaac Newton and Galileo Galilei, al-Haytham combine theory with their findings. Also the theory of convergence of light on white light consists of various colors of light that was discovered by Newton, has also been expressed by al-Haytham the 11th century and his student Kamal ad-Din the 14th century.

Al-Haytham also known as a maker of devices called the Camera Obscura or "Pinhole camera". The word "camera" myself, said to have originated from the word "qamara", which means "the enlightened". Al-Haytham's camera-shaped chamber that is illuminated Gelam light beam from a hole in one side.

In optical instruments, ilmuwanInggris, Roger Bacon (1292) simplify the form of the work of al-Haytham, about the utility of glass lenses to help eyesight, and at the same time the glasses are made and used in China and Europe.

In fact, Ibn Firnas from Spain has been making sunglasses and sold throughout Spain in the 9th century. Christopher Columbus was using a compass made by Muslim scientists Spain as a direction to find the American continent.

Another physicist, Abdurrahman Al-Khazini, Byzantine or Greek-born scientist is an inventor at water as a means of measuring time.

Historians of science have placed al-Khazini in a very respectable position. He is a versatile Muslim scientist who mastered astronomy, physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics and philosophy. A series of think pieces that remain timeless dicetuskannya throughout the ages. Al-Khazini also a scientist who has sparked a variety of important theories in science. He lived in the Turkish Seljuk Dynasty. Through his work, the book Mizan al-Hikmah, which was written in 1121-1122 AD, he explains the difference between force, mass and weight, and showed that the weight of air is reduced by altitude.

Although intelligence is admired and influential, al-Khazini no glare with wealth. Zaimeche mention al-Khazini reject and return the presents 1,000 pieces of gold (dinar) from a Seljuk Emir's wife. He just had enough with the money three dinars a year. One of the many Western scientists are influenced Gregory Choniades, Greek astronomer who died in the 13th century. Thus the historical facts about the achievements of Muslim scientists laid down by John Adler.
