Kiai Gribig A Good Ulama When Spreading Islam

Vice President number 1 KH Ma'ruf Amin attended Kiai Ageng Gribig's haul in Jatinom, Klaten. When opening the event, Kiai Ma'ruf invited the public to follow the example of Kiai Gribig in broadcasting Islam.

Kiai Gribig is a scholar who spread Islam in the land of the kingdom of Mataram in around 1600. His haul is always commemorated every 15 Safar in the Hijri calendar.

"He is very meritorious for us, because of his services, we get the guidance of Allah. Being Muslim, believing. Faith is guidance," Ma'ruf said in his speech on Wednesday (10/24/2018).

According to him, Kiai Ageng Gribig was one of the scholars sent by Allah to carry on the tasks of the prophets and apostles. Namely the task of inviting people to the right path

"They are the perpetrators of the Prophet's duty to expel men from darkness to light, from ignorance to faith," he said.

The former Rais Aam PBNU invited the community to follow the example of Kiai Gribig in preaching, namely in a polite manner. According to him, this method is in accordance with the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad.

"The example is the way he preaches politely, peacefully and does not cause noise. Not fierce, not rude, because the Prophet taught it. If you are rude, fierce, they will run away," he said.

The way to preach like that, for him is very appropriate to be applied in Indonesia. Because Indonesia is a country consisting of various backgrounds.

"We need to develop this, especially Indonesia as a pluralistic country, so that there will be no conflict in this country. Moreover, we have a foundation, Pancasila and 1945 Constitution," he said

The haul event is a series of Yaqowiyu events that are routinely held every year. Ma'ruf came to the event at the invitation of the Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto who was a descendant of Kiai Ageng Gribig.

Before starting the haul, Ma'ruf and Airlangga inaugurated the building of the Kiai Ageng Gribig tomb complex which had just been restored. They also had a pilgrimage and prayed at the tomb.
