When a friend Rib'iy bin Amer radhiyallahu ’anhu was assigned to negotiate with the Persian army chief, Rustum, he explains the mission of the coming of the Muslims by Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala to earth. One mission was described by him as follows:
"We (Muslims) Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala sent to earth to remove the man from the narrowness of the world to the streets of the world and the hereafter."
This is one of the primary missions of Islamic teachings. Maternity believers that belief in the Hereafter will be so strong that they are never confined within the narrow limitations of the world. A believer is always alive with open heart because they are not easily caught by the trick of pleasure (and tribulations) a mortal world.
How delicious pleasure, then for a Mu'min can not match let alone exceed the ultimate happiness of heaven hereafter. Similarly, any weighing of the world's woes, then for a believer it can not match let alone exceed the true suffering in the Hereafter hell later.But in everyday life we often see so many people who think that the world is so essential that they are willing to do and sacrifice anything just to gain pleasure mortal world. Similarly, they will be willing to do and give up anything for a while freed from the suffering of this world. And it's all done by risking the possibility of reaching ultimate pleasure paradise afterlife and the possibility of even culminate in a true misery of hell hereafter.
Not many people are willing to be patient lost paradise of the world for the sake of reaching heaven hereafter. Not many people are willing to face hell on earth for the sake liberated from hell hereafter. This just shows how human temper. And it also shows how easily people get stuck with the things that Zahir from this worldly life and they are not sharp enough eyesight to see the unseen things of life hereafter.
"They only know who was born (only) of the life of the world, are they about (life) is to neglect the Hereafter." (Surah ArRuum verse 7)
The ahlud-dunya or lovers of the world indeed is the materialists. They're just busy drowning in material things alone. They do not ever want to know with things that are "behind the material. " Because they can not reach it because it is not the presence of al-faith in his chest.
A believer would want to be successful also in the world. But his prayers and hope to Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala never stopped only on matters limited to the world. They always expect the afterlife along with hope for the world.
"And among them there are people who pray,"Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and save us from the torment of hell."(Surah Al-Baqarah verse 201)
In short, a Mu'min is a human being who prefer suffering in the world of home happy in the afterlife. Meanwhile, an infidel or hypocrite rather successful in the world go to hell though should result in the Hereafter. A principled believers: "It's better now home happy hard lately."While an infidel or hypocrite principled: "The important thing is we have fun while you can. Problem hell, well, not necessarily actually exist."
Prophet Muhammad shollallahu 'alaih wa sallam warned us Muslims should not to be deceived by the world. It should always be aware that the nature of pleasure and trouble in the afterlife is not in the world. Happy in the world does not need to make us forget. Difficult in the world does not need to make us despair.
That is why the Prophet shollallahu 'alaih wa sallam convey a hadith which describes an episode in court later days later. Depiction of heaven for a moment to explain how fun enough to make people who suffer most when the world will completely forget his suffering. While the woes of hell even though a flash enough to make the most delicious when living in a world no longer remembers all the fun.
"On the Day of Judgement delivered the most enjoyable of his life when the world from the Fire. Then he dipped into hell for a moment. Then he asked: "O Children of Adam, have you ever seen a good, have you ever felt a pleasure?" And he replied: "No, by Allah, O Lord." And brought in people who suffer most when living in the world of the heavenly host. Then he dipped into the heavens for a moment. Then asked: "O Children of Adam, have you ever seen a problem, have you ever felt a misery?" And he replied: "No, by Allah, O Lord. I never felt any difficulty and I have never seen any misery. "(Hadith Muslim 5018)
